The Vegan Fitness Lifestyle: Jehina Malik joins Essentially Fit Radio on Sunday, August 8th at 5PM EST.

Uncategorized

‘You can’t build a better body without protein from meat!’

If you been working out for any length of time, you may have heard that comment.

But what if that’s not true? What if it is possible to have the body of your dreams and not include meat in your diet. Or eggs. Or even milk for that matter.

Essentially fit Radio welcomes Jehina Malik, a drug free bodybuilder. She also happens to be a life-long vegan. She breaks the sterotypes of what a champion bodybuilder looks like.

Come join us this Sunday as we discuss:

What is Veganism?

What are first steps one should take if they are thinking of becoming one.

The biggest myths regarding veganism.

How to build muscle and lose fat on a vegan diet. Is it really possible to get enough nutrients on a vegan diet?

———————–
Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume

animal products of any kind. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are an ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.

The lack of consistent, quality PE repercussions are overwhelmingly apparent with childhood obesity, diabetes, heart disease, teen pregnancies, bad eating habits and sedentary lifestyles at an all time high, especially among minorities. Brian hopes to instill a new habit of healthy eating and physical activity among children which will ultimately improve classroom learning while simultaneously improving their health and wellbeing.

JJ Virgin Joins Wess Murray on Essentially Fit Radio, Sunday May 23rd, 2010 at 5PM EDT

Uncategorized

Essentially welcomes celebrity nutritionist, JJ Virgin.

Blame Michelle Obama or any of the A-list actresses out there who flaunt their “great guns” in gorgeous sleeveless dresses. Stop being a hater. They earned those arms. They’ve also created a modern phenomenon amongst women called “arm envy.”

Top wellness expert JJ Virgin says that “arms are the new accessory” and she’s not kidding! Put down the Prada and give away the Gucci. A great set of arms in a Target tank top says it all.

Now that it’s bathing suit and tank top season, it’s time to address those two limbs that have been hiding under those cushy sweaters all winter long. The good news is you don’t have to hate your arms anymore or be embarrassed by them.

Virgin hits home in her new book, “Six Weeks to Sleeveless and Sexy,” when she talks about how arms actually limit the lives of many women who refuse to go to the beach, pool or even attended dressy functions because they figure it will take 10 shrugs to cover up the area of their body they hate the most.

Who doesn’t feel for the woman in her book who says that in all the family photos she “looks like a linebacker.” Or there’s a bride who is in tears because most wedding gowns are, yes, sleeveless.

We are going to be talking all about getting in fabulous summer shape for our next show!
